How Systems Are Revolutionising Industries

Systems make up most of our society. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to go about our daily lives. You wouldn’t be able to make your morning commute, your food wouldn’t be at the shop and you wouldn’t be getting same-day delivery any time soon. With the impact of technology, we have seen systems not only change the way we live our lives, but revolutionize industries altogether. Here are some of the ways in which they’re doing just that.

Increasing Convenience

We live in a world of convenience. You need something but don’t have time to pick it up? Have it delivered to your house. Need to talk to a friend? Give them a call and talk on Facetime. We’ve also seen convenience revolutionize several industries. One great example of this is Uber. In the past, if you wanted to get a taxi you’d have to walk to your nearest taxi location. Then, you could call the taxi to pick you up. Today, you can have a taxi arrive at your exact spot within 5 minutes. You can even track the taxi to see how far away it is. This convenience is only available due to the systems Uber have in place. Their systems allow for a convenient customer journey, getting customers from A to B with no hassle at all.

Improving Efficiency

Another way systems are changing industries is by improving efficiency. There’s no better example of this than Amazon. You order something from Amazon and it’s at your house within 12 hours. In order to do this, Amazon has created systems that track everything possible. From the time of the order, right down to the delivery time, you can be sure that Amazon knows exactly how long everything takes. This level of efficiency has allowed Amazon to dominate not only the E-commerce industry but also the delivery industry. Traditional, government-owned mail is significantly slower than Amazon and as a result, most people will buy through Amazon rather than the suppliers themselves.

Better Customer Service

Whether or not you believe the customer is always right, offering outstanding customer service is required as part of a successful business. Systems are now in place so that customers can receive support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Most MNCs will use a global customer support service, in which customers can get hold of a representative whenever they need one. To offer this level of support, complex cloud systems are used to transfer customer data. This data is shared amongst all employees, ensuring they know who’s calling, where they’re calling from and any recent purchases they’ve made.

With systems continuously innovating systems around the world, it’s likely that we’ll see more change over the next century than any time in human history. It’s possible that we may one day receive orders within a few hours, taxis in less than a minute and new businesses innovating industries in ways we could never have imagined. It’s fair to say, this is the most exciting time in human history.
